Bạn sẽ được truy cập internet miễn phí một cách an toàn dùng các máy tính của CAI đã cài HĐH Linux Ubuntu trong suốt ngày SFD 2006. Nếu bạn có máy tính xách tay với chức năng wi-fi, bạn có thể truy cập internet qua mạng không dây của chúng tôi.

Toute la journée, de 10h à 18h, les visiteurs pourront bénéficier d’un accès libre à internet avec les ordinateurs du Centre d’accès à l’information et pourront expérimenter de visu le système d’exploitation Ubuntu “Dapper Drake” 6.06 LTS (basé sur Debian GNU/Linux). Une borne d’accès internet sans-fil sera également installée pour la journée pour les personnes qui apporteraient leur ordinateur portable équipé de liaison sans-fil.

There will be free internet access (including Wi-Fi) through the CAI’s internet connection (ADSL). You may bring your laptops or use the available desktop computers (all installed with Ubuntu Dapper).
Linux distributions on display

    * Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/) is the Linux distribution chosen by the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) to operate more than a thousand of computers used in its network of information centers (CAIs and CNFs) around the world. The latest version Ubuntu “Dapper Drake” 6.06 LTS is installed on all the computers of the CAI in Hanoi. It is available to users either in French (default), Vietnamese or English languages. People interested can ask for a free Ubuntu LiveCD (installable to the hard disk).

Note : A Vietnamese LiveCD Ubuntu, with OpenOffice.org in Vietnamese, will also be prepared specially for the Hanoi’s SFD 2006.

    * Hacao Linux (see http://hacao.com/) is a small Vietnamese Linux distribution, based on Puppy Linux (http://www.puppylinux.org/), by Nguyễn Quang Trường. The Hacao Office.2.01 VN version integrates the free bureautic suite OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 in Vietnamese and can be installed to a 256 MB USB drive.
      Free Hacao Linux LiveCD (installable to a hard disk and to USB drives) will also be distributed to interested persons.

Technical Demonstration

    * Demonstration : Embedded linux, same friendly linux but with not ordinary hardware
    * Demonstration of Nam Thanh Công School’s Studentlab, Vnlinux EDU 9.5 : one server and 3-5 thin-less clients
      This is a project funded by VIETLUG (donation from G TT) and offered to the Nam Thanh Công school in Hanoi. The diskless workstations have just been received by Nguyên Hông Quang (IFI) and a demonstration setup will be displayed.

Playing games under Linux

Now the saying which is “Windows is for games and Linux is for work” does not stand anymore. Several computers included some real gaming powerhouse, will be dedicated to play some really good quality games under Linux. We won’t show windows emulated games but only free and open source software. So no commercial games (yes you can find commercial games for linux) A special Gamer’s corner will be available for you to test and play !

    * Sauerbraten : Yet another but more traditional FPS check the screenshots at http://sauerbraten.org/

You’re a programmer and think you can beat everyone else ? Try against others !!!

Hãy chứng tỏ khả năng công nghệ của bạn trong việc tích hợp các giải pháp phần mềm tự do và mã nguồn mở thành một sản phẩm phù hợp với nhu cầu của bạn trong thời gian ngắn nhất. Hơn thế nữa hãy thuyết phục xếp của bạn về: tính khả thi và ưu điểm của giải pháp đưa ra.

Trò chơi câu hỏi cho mọi người - Questioning challenge

Bạn hãy đến trả lời các phiếu câu hỏi về các phần mềm tự do chạy dưới Windows và/hoặc Linux.
Nếu trả lời đúng bạn sẽ có cơ hội nhận được 1 giải thưởng là một ổ USB (tổng cộng giải thưởng = 10 chiếc ổ USB, từ 128 đến 512 MB).

Ten USB drives (128 - 512 MB) will be given away through random drawing among good answered bulletins about Free softwares.
Special purpose computing - network processing computer - embedded computing

FPT RoutesKeeper will show

    * Fundamentals of special purpose computing
    * The process of building single board computers (SBC) - those found in routers, smart phones, PDAs
    * Building the embedded software system for SBCs (using free software)
    * The case of FRK - network processing in a SBC

This show is good for electronics and communications students and professionals, as well as computer science students and professionals who interested in low level and system computing.

FRK will need a big table and 2 Ubuntu computers for the show
