I agree with a code of conduct and guidelines, because some will get
ticklish about such issues, other will not. For my part commercial
advertising need special treatment.
On other list I saw people using tags such as "OT - off topic" "JOB -
job announce" or AD for advertising.
It was not that bad only that the message is dry and not personal, taken
from a template. If I want to build relationship with a specific
market, I'd register as a user, lurk a bit then ask for information
first and build something from that.
Automagic-push-an-email-to-all-LUG-in-the-world is probably wortheless
and will get at best some hard answers.
That said we had a quick win idea last saturday. Let's store the name of
people who are doing for free or for fee consultancy in the region of
Hanoi. I've see this often, we just have to be clear that we're not a
consultancy firm and we don't endorse any of those. But since people
need those consultants :
