[HanoiLUG] Vietnam is making the news in the opensource world - Any thought ?

It's all right, JC.
And I think, everybody here should remember, that in May, 21 2007 the
Government signed an agreement with M$ to buy MSO for all the Gov's agencies
anh rumour about making M$ an strategic partner in building eGov's
infrastructures in VN.
It's our backgroud.
What was happen after that?
- In September 2007, Vietnam voted "Abstain" (not "Yes") for OOXML in ISO.
- In December 2007, the Gov. recommended to use some FOSS (OOo, Firefox,
Thunderbird, Unikey) in Gov' agencies.
- In March 2008, Vietnam voted "Abstain" (not "Yes") for OOXML in ISO once
again.
- In 2008, the Gov. carried out MSO in agencies throught the country,
according to the greement with M$ and some pilot projects on M$ Share Point
Portal Server.
- In 2008, with some small pilot projects the Gov. carried out OOo, Firefox,
Thunderbird, Unikey in some agencies.
- In October 2008, M$ region warned Windows' users in VN with dark screen.
- In December 2008, the Gov. issued the Directive as JC pointed out above.
Hi All, is that a progress? As to me, I say Yes.
The situation here would be, may be, can be, need to be, should be, must be
changed more.
And everything is going on, and plsease, be patient.
